Grandpa's Hand

My school was some distance away from where I lived and everyday my dear grandfather would pick me up from school and accompany me in my journey back home.
We had to cross a main road on our route and as time went by this road got wider and wider and the traffic got heavier. There were frequent reports of numerous accidents taking place on this crossing and it also claimed some of the lives of my school mates.
Everyday at 2:00pm my grandfather would come and wait underneath a huge tree outside the school compound waiting for the final bell to ring. Once it did, we kids used to run out as a bird released from a cage...out of the school gate. As I would come out and come nearer to the tree where my grandpa used to wait, our eyes met and soon we would be walking down the road with me narrating my day to my grandpa. As we reached the crossing, I would just stretch out my hand and my grandpa would hold my hand as we crossed the road. Giant containers and trucks passed by but I felt secure as my grandpa held my hand and walked me through.

Through life we face numerous trials and challenges... our trucks can look huge and can threaten to run as over. When we are in this situation, we just have to stretch our hands up to our Father God. He'll hold your hand see you through every ' truck ' you will ever face in your life.

For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. (Isaiah 41 : 13)
