"Michael Jackson made culture accept a person of color,... He was a historic figure that people will measure music and the industry by." the Rev. Al Sharpton said.
Five of Jackson's solo albums – "Off the Wall," "Thriller," "Bad," "Dangerous" and "HIStory," among the top-sellers of all time. During his extraordinary career, he sold an estimated 750 million records worldwide, released 13 No.1 singles and became one of a handful of artists to be inducted twice into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The Guinness Book of World Records recognized Jackson as the Most Successful Entertainer of All Time and "Thriller" as the Biggest Selling Album of All Time. Jackson won 13 Grammy Awards and received the American Music Award's Artist of the Century Award. The album "Thriller" also accounted for 7 No.1 songs most by anyone from a single album.
Personal Note : The first song of MJ I heard was "Heal the World" and I've never stopped enjoying listening to him. He's truly the greatest singer/dancer/entertainer this world has seen. His vocal skills are unmatched and his fluid dance steps left one breathless and wanting for more. I will always enjoy listening to his music and the magic that is Michael Jackson.
"This is it"
In what was to be his first performance after many years, Jackson said the shows, which will take place at the O2 Arena in Greenwich, southeast London, would be the last time he would ever play in London. This was called the "This is it" tour which marked a farewell to all his fans. Jackson said: "I am coming to London to play the songs my fans want to hear." He last toured 12 years ago.
'This is it' tour was supposed to kick off in July, 2009 at the O2 arena. And later an expansive world tour was planned to bid farewell to all his fans.
The King of Pop as he was often referred to, had decided that he would call it quits on his career after this tour. But little did he know that just a couple of weeks before his planned farewell tour, he would be biding a farewell to this world that loved him so much. We ourselves plan to do so many things in the future but this incident of Michael Jackson's death reminds us that our life here on earth is very unpredictable. One morning the newspapers yell out that MJ is 'the greatest entertainer the world has ever seen' but an other morning brings with it of his death. When the life of a genius, a larger than life, music icon is not assured, how much more can life be unpredictable for us.
Just this morning I was in a car on one of the flyovers in the city when I heard that there was an accident where a person on a bike lost his life in a collision with a truck. I heard that his head hit the road and split into two, as I witnessed lot of blood with scattered brain tissues on the road.
Jesus is our only assurance. People come and people go, but God is a constant who never changes. He promises to be with us in our lives on earth, and once we die we are assured a place in heaven if we put our trust in Him here on this earth. Death is something we have no control over. Many of us are fortunate to lead lives past 80 - 85 and there are also people like MJ who die at an age of 50 or other even younger people who end up losing lives as the one I witnessed on the flyover. Death is an eventuality and a life after death is a certainity whether you accept it or not. One day creation has to meet its creator...Where will you stand ? On God's side or on the side of the people who rejected Him ?
I encourage you to give your heart to Jesus and make Him the Lord and Savior of your soul. Just say this out loud "Jesus come into my heart. I acknowledge that I am a sinner in need of a Savior. I give my life to you and will follow you the rest of my life. In Jesus name I pray Amen".
If you prayed this prayer out loud believing it in your heart, then you are saved, your sins are washed away and you are assured a place in heaven forever and ever. If you need help in what to do next, please feel free to contact me.

Many things about tomorrow, I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow, And I know Who holds my hand.
